Vasu is an irresponsible, fun-loving young man whose father despairs of him, and Viji is a spirited girl who gives as good as she gets. After a string of clashes, circumstances force the two to spend time together on the run, and as they get to know each other, their fights soften into affection. Thiruda Thirudi is a lively romantic comedy from Dhanush's early career, made when he was still a young star finding his feet after Kaadhal Kondein. It is best known for the dance number Manmadha Rasa, which became one of the biggest Tamil songs of its year and made Chaya Singh a star, with music by Dhina.
