Rajendran, head of a huge business group, wants one of his three sons to succeed him. The two elder sons are part of the company, while the youngest, Vijay, refuses to live by his father's rules and leaves home. Years later he returns for his parents' anniversary to find the family quietly falling apart: his brothers are at odds, a ruthless rival is circling the business, and his father hides a serious secret. Vijay decides to hold the family together and save the empire, with Rashmika Mandanna as the woman he falls for. Varisu ("heir") was made in Tamil and Telugu (as Vaarasudu) and released for Pongal 2023, clashing at the box office with Ajith's Thunivu. The song "Ranjithame" became a huge hit.
