Chalu Mera Naam (1977)

Chalu Mera Naam ("my name is Chalu", a slang word for a crafty operator) is a 1977 Hindi film directed by Krishna Naidu, starring Vinod Mehra and Vidya Sinha, who was then one of the fresh faces of middle-of-the-road Hindi cinema after Rajnigandha and Chhoti Si Baat. As the title suggests, the hero is a clever, street-smart man whose schemes drive a mix of comedy, romance and drama. It is a modest 1970s entertainer for viewers interested in the lesser-known films of its leads.
