Shivaji is a boy driven from his home with his mother and stepbrother, and in the chaos of their flight he is separated from them. He grows up among labourers in a lawless settlement controlled by a brutal gang, where he becomes the people's champion and earns the name Chatrapathi, while never giving up hope of finding his mother. This Hindi film is a remake of S. S. Rajamouli's 2005 Telugu hit Chatrapathi, which starred Prabhas, and was the Hindi debut of Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, directed by V. V. Vinayak, who had worked with him before. Bhagyashree plays the mother.
