Aditya is a smooth card-sharp and con artist who lands in prison accused of a deadly terror attack he insists he had nothing to do with. Convicted and placed on death row, he has little hope until an elderly fellow prisoner teaches him chess, and Aditya turns out to be a natural. As his talent grows, the game becomes a way to draw attention to his case, while a young lawyer, Manasa, takes up his appeal and flashbacks reveal his romance with Yatra and how he came to be framed. Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, known for unconventional thrillers such as Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju, builds the film around prison life and tournament matches rather than songs and fights. It was Priya Prakash Varrier's first released Telugu film.
