Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018)

Senapathi has ruled Chennai's underworld for decades. After an ambush leaves him shaken, his three sons gather: Varadan, the eldest, who runs the business at home; Thyagu, who lives in Dubai; and Ethi, the youngest, an arms dealer in Serbia. Varadan's old friend Rasool, a suspended policeman, watches from the sidelines. As the family hunts for whoever ordered the attack, old resentments and ambitions surface and the succession becomes a war. Chekka Chivantha Vaanam ("crimson red sky") gathered one of the biggest ensembles in recent Tamil cinema and was a box-office success for Mani Ratnam. A. R. Rahman composed the music, Santosh Sivan shot it, and it was released in Telugu as Nawab.
