Vishnu was a promising runner until a road accident cost him a leg, and with it the national medal his father had always wanted for him. Years later he is married, bitter and stuck in a dull desk job, unable to watch a race without pain. Then he comes across Bhagyalakshmi, a young athlete from a village who has real speed but no money, no coach and a sports system that keeps shutting her out. Vishnu decides to train her himself, and in doing so he runs straight into the officials and politics that decide who is allowed to compete. Clap is a sports drama built on Aadhi Pinisetty's restrained performance as a man rebuilding his self-respect, with veterans Prakash Raj and Nassar in support. Its background score and songs are by Ilaiyaraaja. The film was made in Tamil and Telugu.
