A fisherman pulls a bag containing a human skull out of a lake near Thiruvananthapuram, and ACP Sathyajith, a methodical police officer, begins the slow work of identifying the victim with forensic help. At the same time, Medha, a television journalist and single mother who has moved into a rented house with her young daughter, experiences strange events that suggest something in the house wants her attention. The two lines, one a police procedural and the other a ghost story, gradually converge. Cold Case was the debut of director Tanu Balak and starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, and it was released directly to home viewing in 2021 during the pandemic. It is an unusual blend of crime investigation and supernatural horror.
