Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya (2013)

When a pretty young woman moves into the neighbourhood, three friends all fall for her at once. Their friendship collapses into a contest, each trying to impress her and her family by any means that might help, and each trying to sabotage the others. Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya ('darling, want to eat a laddu?') is an updated remake of K. Bhagyaraj's comedy Indru Poi Naalai Vaa (1981), and was produced by Santhanam, who also leads the cast. It was a big comic hit, partly thanks to the self-mocking screen persona of 'Power Star' Srinivasan, and the same team returned in later comedies.
