Kodama Simham (1990)

Kodama Simham, 'the young lion', is one of the few Telugu cowboy films, a genre made popular in the state by Krishna's Mosagallaku Mosagadu in 1971. Chiranjeevi plays a horse-riding gunslinger seeking justice for wrongs done to his family, whose search leads him into a desert land ruled by bandits and towards a legendary diamond. Radha and Sonam play the heroines. Directed by K. Murali Mohan Rao, the film borrows freely from Hollywood and spaghetti westerns, with horseback chases, shoot-outs and saloons alongside songs and Telugu family sentiment. It remains a favourite with Chiranjeevi fans who enjoy seeing him in a western costume.
