Vikramaditya is a rich, cultured businessman who lost the use of his body in a paragliding accident and now lives in his mansion surrounded by staff, cut off from joy. Seenu is a fast-talking small-timer out on parole who needs a job to keep his family afloat and turns up for the carer's interview with no intention of getting it. Vikram hires him anyway, and Seenu's irreverence, music and refusal to treat him as an invalid slowly bring him back to life, while Seenu learns responsibility in turn. Oopiri ("breath") is an official remake of the French hit The Intouchables, made simultaneously in Tamil as Thozha. Nagarjuna acts almost entirely with his face and voice, Karthi made his Telugu debut, and parts were shot in Paris.
