Babu and Yesu, who stumbled into a crime in the first Mathu Vadalara, have landed jobs in a special police team that handles kidnappings and hostage cases. They are underpaid, overconfident and easily tempted, and when a case comes along that looks like a shortcut to easy money, they take it. Soon they are caught up in a kidnapping that is not what it seems, with a missing girl, a powerful family and a body they cannot explain. Like the original, the sequel is a deadpan crime comedy full of film references and absurd detours, and comedian Satya's Yesu became one of the most quoted performances of the year. Faria Abdullah joins as their sharp colleague. Lead actor Sri Simha and music director Kaala Bhairava are both sons of composer M. M. Keeravani.
