Nine young men, each with his own reason for wanting money, come together under a mysterious leader with a daring plan: to steal the golden howdah, the gold seat carried by an elephant in the famous Mysore Dasara procession. The film follows the formation of the gang, the planning of the heist and the complications that follow when the police and their own rivalries close in. Navagraha ("nine planets") was the directorial debut of Dinakar Thoogudeepa, Darshan's brother. Its unusual casting was a big talking point: most of the nine are sons of well-known Kannada actors, including Tiger Prabhakar's son Vinod, Lokesh's son Srujan, Dwarakish's son Giri and Keerthiraj's son Dharma. V. Harikrishna's music and the slick heist format made it a hit with young audiences.
