Damaal Dumeel (2014)

The hero is an IT professional who has just been laid off, and he is hiding the fact from his family and from the woman he loves, while his loans pile up. Then chance puts a bag full of cash into his hands. The money belongs to a gangster, and another crime boss wants it too, and soon he is caught in a frantic game between the two gangs, a pair of crooked middlemen and the police. Damaal Dumeel is a fast-moving Tamil comedy thriller in the style of crime capers, made against the backdrop of the IT layoffs that were then in the news. It was the debut of director Shree, with Vaibhav Reddy in the lead, Remya Nambeesan as the heroine and a gallery of comic villains around them.
