Rama Chandra is an orphan who agrees to be adopted by a wealthy, childless royal family that needs an heir, partly to win the approval of the girl he loves. Arriving at their palace, he learns that they have been at war for generations with a neighbouring clan, and that he has a far deeper connection to the conflict than he knew. Torn between the family that raised him and the family he was born into, he decides to end the bloodshed his own way. Dammu ("guts") was Jr. NTR's first collaboration with mass-action director Boyapati Srinu, and is known for its high-voltage fight scenes, with music by M. M. Keeravani.
