Description

One day of a reading of the Brahma-sūtra at Govardhan Maṭha, Purī, in Hindi. Bādarāyaṇa compresses Vedānta into terse aphorisms across four adhyāyas — the concordance of the scriptures, the answering of objections, the means and the fruit — and the text is unreadable without a commentary, which is why it is taught rather than recited. In the Advaita lineage of a cardinal maṭha it is read with the bhāṣya of Śaṅkara. Day 1. The item records no Chaturmas year.
