Santhanam's hero needs money fast to rescue his girlfriend from trouble with gangsters, and a bag full of stolen cash lands in his hands. The money ends up inside an abandoned bungalow in Pondicherry that locals avoid, and it turns out to be haunted by the ghosts of a family that once ran a gambling den there. Anyone who enters has to play the family's games and win, or die. He and an assortment of crooks chasing the same money have to survive the night game by game. DD Returns is a follow-up in spirit to Santhanam's horror comedies Dhilluku Dhuddu and Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, and it was a hit in July 2023, praised for its fast gags and Redin Kingsley's comedy.
