Jayammu Nischayammu Raa (2016)

Jayammu Nischayammu Raa ("Victory is certain") is a 2016 Telugu comedy-drama starring comedian Srinivas Reddy in a rare lead role, opposite Poorna. He plays a timid, superstitious young man from Karimnagar who lands a government job and is transferred to Kakinada, where he falls for a young woman who works nearby. His beliefs in omens and astrology, his shyness and the schemes of the people around him complicate the courtship at every turn. The film was praised for its gentle humour, its small-town characters and its affectionate look at Telangana and coastal Andhra life, and was warmly received.
