Vasu (2002)

Vasu has music in his blood and wants nothing more than to be a singer. His strict father has other plans and wants his son to join the police, and the gap between them grows wider with every argument. When Vasu meets a young woman who believes in his talent, she becomes his encouragement and his love, but rivals and family pressures make every step difficult. Director A. Karunakaran, who had made the hugely successful Tholi Prema, gives Venkatesh a gentle, music-led family romance, very different from the star's action films. Harris Jayaraj's soundtrack is the main attraction and was a big hit in Andhra Pradesh, with several songs still remembered.
