Dedh Ishqiya (2014)

Khalujaan and his nephew Babban, the small-time crooks from Ishqiya, are on the run again. Khalujaan passes himself off as a nawab and poet and joins a contest at the palace of Begum Para, a refined widow in the fictional town of Mahmudabad, who has promised to marry the man who recites the finest poetry. Babban, meanwhile, falls for the begum's spirited companion Muniya. A rival suitor, the gangster Jaan Mohammad, wants the begum too, and nobody in the palace, including the women, is quite what they seem. The sequel to Ishqiya (2010) brings Madhuri Dixit back in one of her most admired later roles, with Urdu poetry, ghazals and the culture of old Lucknow at its heart. Vishal Bhardwaj's music includes the qawwali Horn OK Please and the ghazal Dil Ka Mizaaj Ishqiya.
