Karan has never got over Tanya, the girl he loved in college, and when he learns she is living in Dubai he hires a self-assured fixer to find her and report back. The man finds her all right, falls for her at first sight and starts lying to Karan to keep her for himself. Soon a crowd of suitors and schemers, from a love-struck rival to a bumbling gangster, are competing for Tanya, each with his own act and his own disguise. Vikram Bhatt's comedy is loosely based on the Hollywood hit There's Something About Mary and was shot largely in Dubai. It reunites the producer, director and much of the cast of Awara Paagal Deewana, with Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever supplying much of the comedy.
