Description

All three parts in one sitting - fifty-six minutes. A 1946 film by the Handy (Jam) Organization for General Motors, telling the story of Kenneth W. Randall, MD: a newly qualified surgeon waiting by a telephone that does not ring, then a doctor treating factory men in their lunch hour, then a man who gives up private practice for a full-time post with a motor manufacturer - to his father's disgust - and is still there in 1942, directing the medical side of a plant at war. The narrator says plainly that Randall is a composite of "literally hundreds of physicians" who built industrial medicine. This is the copy to watch if you want the whole film; the Archive's separate part three is a duplicate of part two.
