Venkat and his friends are desperate for money, so they decide to kidnap Shruti, a leading star of Telugu cinema, and demand a ransom. Things go wrong at once: Shruti turns out to have problems of her own, and soon she is helping to run her own kidnapping, while a police officer, a dangerous gangster and her own circle close in. Dongaata ("game of thieves") is a brisk caper comedy that plays with the gap between a film star's public image and real life. Lakshmi Manchu both produced the film and plays the star, with Adivi Sesh as the lead kidnapper, shortly before his breakthrough as a thriller hero.
