Dookudu (2011)

Ajay Kumar is a fearless police officer whose father, the respected politician Shankar Narayana, was left in a coma for years after an attack by rivals. When his father wakes up, doctors warn that any shock could kill him, so Ajay recreates the past around him, pretending that his father is still an elected leader, while secretly hunting the gangsters responsible. The film balances big action with comedy, notably Brahmanandam as an aspiring actor caught in the act. Dookudu ("dash") was among the biggest Telugu hits of its time, with S. Thaman's songs a major part of its success, and it won several state awards. Parts were shot in Istanbul, and Sonu Sood plays the main villain. It is known in Hindi as The Real Tiger.
