Door Ki Awaaz (1964)

Door Ki Awaaz ("a voice from afar") is a 1964 Hindi romantic drama directed by Devendra Goel, pairing Joy Mukherjee and Saira Banu, two of the young romantic stars of the decade. The story turns on a woman who loses her memory and the mystery and heartbreak that follow, with the man in her life trying to reach her through the fog of forgetting. Pran adds menace and Johnny Walker comedy. The music is by Ravi, who also scored Devendra Goel's other films of the period, and the film is a typical example of the glossy, song-filled romances of the 1960s.
