Prabhakaran comes out on bail after being accused of killing his wife Draupathi and her sister, and he begins a mysterious mission of his own, tracking down men involved in a racket of fake marriage registrations that he believes ruined his family. As the police follow him, flashbacks reveal Draupathi, a determined woman who fought this practice in her village, and what really happened. Draupathi was crowd-funded and became a surprise box-office success in early 2020, but it was also strongly criticised for its portrayal of caste and inter-caste marriage, and it remains a divisive film. Richard Rishi and Sheela Rajkumar play the leads.
