Life seems to have moved on for Rambabu. He now owns a cinema theatre and dreams of producing a film, but his wife and daughters still live in fear, and the townspeople gossip endlessly about the disappearance of a police officer's son years earlier. The police, meanwhile, have quietly kept the case alive, and a new witness and a careful undercover operation slowly tighten the net around the family. Drushyam 2 is Jeethu Joseph's own Telugu remake of his Malayalam hit Drishyam 2, which he directed with Mohanlal earlier the same year, and Venkatesh and Meena return to the roles they first played in Drushyam (2014). Like the original, it is a patient, carefully plotted thriller whose pleasure lies in watching an ordinary man stay one step ahead.
