Guna, a gifted saxophonist, and his younger brother Siva, a singer, are devoted to each other. Both fall for Anjali, a sculptor who lives nearby. Guna, unsure of his looks, courts her anonymously with the music he plays at night, but she believes the musician to be Siva, and Guna lets the misunderstanding stand out of love for his brother. The Cyrano-style triangle grows more painful as the truth stays hidden. Duet is remembered above all for A. R. Rahman's saxophone-led soundtrack, featuring the playing of Kadri Gopalnath, with songs such as "Anjali Anjali" and "En Kadhale". It also gave Prakash Raj an early Tamil role as a menacing villain. This page is for the Tamil film.
