Dum (2003)

Sathya is a carefree, quick-fisted young man who lives with his family in Chennai and has a habit of stepping into other people's fights. His temper earns him a powerful enemy, a rowdy with friends in high places, and at the same time he falls for a spirited young woman whose world is very different from his. As the feud escalates, Sathya's family and his love story are both caught in the crossfire. Dum is an early action vehicle for Silambarasan, made as a Tamil remake of the Kannada hit Appu (2002), with Rakshitha reprising her role from the original. Deva's songs were popular with young audiences at the time of release.
