Krishna Aur Kans (2012)

Krishna Aur Kans retells, in colourful 3D animation, the familiar story of Lord Krishna's childhood. The tyrant Kans of Mathura has been warned that his sister Devaki's eighth child will destroy him, so the infant Krishna is smuggled across the Yamuna to grow up in Gokul with Nand and Yashoda. There he plays pranks, steals butter, charms the villagers and, one by one, defeats the demons that Kans sends after him, until the day he must go to Mathura to face his uncle. Directed by Vikram Veturi, the film is aimed squarely at children and families, with songs and comic moments. Manoj Bajpayee voices Kans, and Juhi Chawla voices Yashoda. It was released in several Indian languages.
