Magadheera (2009)

Harsha is a fearless stunt biker in Hyderabad. One day his hand brushes against that of a young woman, Indu, and he feels a jolt that brings visions he cannot explain. As he searches for her, an old enemy is also drawn back into her life, and the truth emerges from four centuries earlier: Harsha was once Kala Bhairava, the bravest warrior of the kingdom of Udaygarh, sworn to protect the princess Mitravinda, whom he loved and who loved him, while the scheming commander Ranadev coveted both her and the throne. Magadheera was a landmark of Telugu cinema, one of its biggest hits up to that time, and it made Ram Charan a star in only his second film. Its battle scenes and visual effects won National Awards for special effects and choreography, and it pointed the way to Rajamouli's later epics, Baahubali and RRR.
