Thiru is a petty thief in a small Tamil town who gets by with the help of his young sidekick. He falls for and marries Venba, a loud, spirited woman who goes to work abroad to support her family. When he learns that she has been trapped by a dangerous gang in South-East Asia, Thiru sets off after her with the boy, taking on a powerful criminal network in a country where he does not speak the language. Sindhubaadh is the third collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and director S. U. Arun Kumar after Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Sethupathi, and it gave the star's son Surya his first sizeable screen role as the sidekick. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music.
