Sam is the village layabout, mocked by everyone and in love with the daughter of the most powerful man around, who will not hear of her marrying him. Life changes when a hulking stranger called Johnny arrives and announces himself as Sam's long-lost brother. Johnny is fearless, quick with his fists and has plans of his own, and with him at his side Sam finally starts to stand up for himself, though nobody, Sam included, is quite sure who Johnny really is. Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal is Priyadarshan's Hindi remake of the Malayalam comedy Marykkundoru Kunjaadu, set in a Goa-style Christian village. Nana Patekar's swaggering Johnny is its biggest asset, and it reunites Priyadarshan with comedy regulars Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav.
