The 36 Crazy Fists is a 1970s kung fu adventure in the classic training-and-revenge pattern. After bullies working for a local gang kill his father, a young man finds his way to a Shaolin temple, where he learns an unconventional fighting style from monks and eccentric teachers before returning to face the villains. The fights were choreographed by a young Jackie Chan, who was working as an action director before his breakthrough as a star, and the film is often sought out by his fans; some releases include behind-the-scenes footage of him at work. Ku Feng, a familiar face of Hong Kong martial arts cinema, plays the chief heavy.
