Tiger Nageswara Rao (2023)

In the 1970s the village of Stuartpuram in Andhra Pradesh was notorious as a home of thieves, and the most famous of them was Nageswara Rao, nicknamed Tiger for his daring. Told through the investigation of a police officer, the film follows his rise from a hard childhood to the robber who warned the police before striking, and the lines he would not cross. Tiger Nageswara Rao is a period action film inspired by the life of the real thief, with Ravi Teja in a rugged, intense role. It marked Nupur Sanon's debut as a lead actress and the return of Renu Desai to the screen after many years, playing the social reformer Hemalatha Lavanam, who worked to rehabilitate the Stuartpuram community.
