Rail Ka Dibba (1953)

Rail Ka Dibba ("the railway carriage") is a 1953 Hindi romantic film directed by P. N. Arora, pairing Madhubala with a young Shammi Kapoor, then in the first years of his career and still several years away from the rock-and-roll image of Tumsa Nahin Dekha and Junglee. The story is a romance with comedy and songs, sparked by a chance meeting connected with a railway journey. Its music is by Ghulam Mohammed, the composer later celebrated for Pakeezah. For admirers of Madhubala, it is a chance to see her in one of her lesser-known films from the early 1950s.
