1980 (2023)

1980 is a Kannada horror thriller starring Priyanka Upendra, with Sharanya Shetty in a key role. Priyanka, who has worked in Bengali, Hindi and Kannada films and is married to actor-director Upendra, has headlined several horror and suspense titles, and here she is drawn into a mystery whose roots lie in the year of the title. The film mixes supernatural scares with an investigation into what really happened, building its suspense slowly towards a reveal rather than relying on gore.
