Escape from Uganda (2013)

Escape from Uganda is a Malayalam thriller set among Indian expatriates in East Africa. Rima Kallingal plays a young Malayali woman who has made a life in Uganda with her husband, played by Vijay Babu, until she is accused of a crime and locked up in a harsh local jail. Far from home and with the system working against them, the couple and their friends, including Joju George's character, look for any way to free her and get out of the country. The film draws its tension from the foreign setting and the helplessness of migrants caught in a legal system they do not understand.
