Sita (2019)

Sita is ambitious, sharp and unscrupulous, and to save her business she strikes an outrageous bargain with the local strongman-politician Basavaraju, who soon comes to collect. Her escape route lies with Raghuram, a simple, innocent young man brought up in a Buddhist monastery in Bhutan, who stands to inherit a fortune from his grandfather and who knows nothing of the world's tricks. Sita plans to use him, but his honesty begins to change her. The film is director Teja's character-driven drama, built around Kajal Aggarwal playing an unusually hard, morally grey heroine, with Sonu Sood as the comic-menacing villain.
