On 12 March 1993 a series of bomb blasts tore through Bombay. Years later, in a quiet Kerala village, a man called Sameer lives an ordinary life, but he carries a secret: he is not who his neighbours believe him to be, and the authorities, as well as his own conscience, have not forgotten the day of the blasts. As the film moves between past and present, it explores how an innocent young man can be drawn into terrorism, how suspicion falls on a whole community, and what it costs to seek redemption. Mammootty plays the lead role in a layered performance, and Unni Mukundan, in one of his first Malayalam roles, plays a young Muslim man caught in the aftermath. Written and directed by Babu Janardhanan, it is a serious, emotional drama rather than an action film.
