Manal Kayiru 2 (2016)

Manal Kayiru 2 is a sequel to Visu's much-loved 1982 Tamil comedy Manal Kayiru, in which S. Ve. Shekher played a young man with a list of absurd conditions for his future wife and a cunning broker who arranged a marriage by hiding the truth from both sides. In the sequel, S. Ve. Shekher's real-life son Ashwin Shekhar plays the next generation, a young man with demands of his own, opposite Poorna, while Shekher and Visu return to the world of the original. It is a gentle family comedy about arranged marriage, lies told for a good cause and the gap between generations, and it works best for viewers fond of the first film.
