Shyam is a smooth thief who, just before he is caught, hides a fortune in diamonds at a construction site. When he comes out of prison, he discovers that the building is now a police station. His solution is to become a police officer himself, and he soon finds he has a knack for the job, while trying to get to his loot, juggle two women and keep his old associates at bay. Directed by David Dhawan, the comedy borrows its premise from the Hollywood film Blue Streak (1999), and takes its title from the 1974 Shashi Kapoor hit. Bobby Deol is paired with Shilpa Shetty and Bipasha Basu, and the songs are by Anu Malik.
