Mamo Thugniyan (2022)

Mamo Thugniyan is a small Punjabi comedy whose title refers to "Mamo the swindler", a sharp-tongued village woman forever cooking up schemes. It features Saroop Parinda and the veteran actress Nirmal Rishi, famous for her feisty elderly roles in Punjabi cinema, along with Jasmeet Vicky. Expect domestic squabbles, village gossip and plenty of earthy humour in the style of the short comic films popular with Punjabi audiences.
