Kannan, who is deaf and mute, works at a hotel in Ooty, where he is loved for his kindness. His great passion is the films of comedian Vivek, whom he idolises. When Vivek, playing himself, comes to the hills on holiday, the two strike up an unlikely friendship, while Kannan is also drawn to a lively young woman who wants him to speak up for his own happiness. Radha Mohan, known for warm, humane films such as Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum, made this feel-good drama in a deliberately gentle register. Arulnithi, usually seen in thrillers, plays against type, and Vivek's turn as a version of himself is the heart of the film.
