Nani, a cheerful young man, has long been quietly courting Bindu, who runs a small charity that makes micro-art. Just as she begins to return his feelings, Sudeep, a rich, predatory industrialist who wants Bindu for himself, has Nani killed. Nani is reborn as a housefly, with all his memories intact, and the tiny insect sets out to protect Bindu and make Sudeep's life a nightmare. Eega (Hindi: Makkhi) is S. S. Rajamouli's most inventive film, a revenge fantasy carried by a computer-generated hero barely the size of a fingernail. Sudeep's gleefully unhinged villain was widely praised, and the film won National Film Awards for best Telugu feature and best special effects, became a major hit, and played at international genre festivals. It was made simultaneously in Tamil as Naan Ee.
