A young man has fallen for a lively young woman, but she may only marry with the approval of her four uncles, the "four thorns" around the flower. Each of them is a crank with his own idea of the perfect groom, and the hero sets out to charm them one by one by becoming exactly what each wants. Keeping all four disguises going at once is where the comedy lies. Sunil Dutt shows an easy comic touch, Waheeda Rehman is sparkling, and Shankar–Jaikishan provide a breezy score. It is a light, good-natured comedy from the start of the 1960s.
