Ellam Avan Seyal (2008)

He is the most feared defence lawyer in town: he takes the cases no one else will and gets the rich and the guilty acquitted, earning the contempt of everyone who believes in justice. When a young woman is murdered and a group of wealthy college students stand accused, he once again agrees to defend them, and the courtroom battle that follows reveals that his methods, and his motives, run deeper than anyone suspects. Ellam Avan Seyal ("it is all his doing") is the Tamil remake of Shaji Kailas's own Malayalam hit Chinthamani Kolacase (2006), which starred Suresh Gopi, remade here by the same director with R. K. in the lead. Vadivelu provides the comic relief.
