En Aasai Machan (1994)

En Aasai Machan ("my dear brother-in-law") is a 1994 Tamil family drama directed by R. Sundarrajan, a specialist in rural melodrama, with Vijayakanth, Revathi and Murali in the lead roles. Set in a village, it deals with love, family ties and a sacrifice that shapes the lives of the main characters, in the warm, emotional register for which Sundarrajan's films are known. Vijayakanth, then at the peak of his popularity, gets his share of action as well as drama. A good pick for viewers who enjoy 1990s Tamil village sentiment.
