Encounter: The Killing (2002)

Encounter: The Killing is a 2002 Hindi crime drama starring Naseeruddin Shah as a police officer investigating a killing, with Dilip Tahil and Tara Deshpande in the cast. It is a small, low-key film that relies on Shah's restrained, worn-down performance rather than on spectacle, following the investigation through the city's poorer quarters and the lives it touches. It will appeal to viewers who appreciate Naseeruddin Shah's work in smaller, offbeat crime films.
