Ethiri (2004)

Ethiri ("enemy") is a 2004 Tamil action comedy from K. S. Ravikumar, the director of commercial hits such as Padayappa and Avvai Shanmugi. R. Madhavan, then known mainly for romantic roles, plays a young man whose life of easy romance and comedy is upended when he makes a dangerous enemy. Sadha and Kanika play the women in his life, Vivek leads the comedy track, and Raghuvaran adds menace. The film is a typical Ravikumar mix of family scenes, humour, songs and confrontation, and an example of Madhavan trying his hand at a more mass-oriented hero.
